Hi! I'm Amy!

Hi readers!!

I hope you are enjoying my blog and getting some great tips or just feeling like you are not alone in this journey called motherhood!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself!

I am a native to South Carolina, born and raised and parenting! I grew up always wanting to be a teacher. I was that kid that had all of my baby dolls gathered on the floor in my bedroom as I taught them how to do math and read them stories!

Education has always been a goal of mine and to be able to teach others and to give the same excitement about learning made me even more driven. I eventually grew up to graduate from undergrad in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. During my undergrad time, I worked as a teacher’s assistant at the daycare on campus. I worked there with children from ages 6 weeks to 6 years old for 4 and half years. Although working there was the perfect birth control!, I was learning and practicing how to care for my future children, and not to mention preparing for teaching and managing students in my own classroom one day.

I graduated and became a 5th & 6th grade teacher at a charter school and learned more about being creative with children! At the daycare, I was learning a lot about how to be creative on the spot, but as a teacher, I was building my skills in planned creativity! This included math games, science experiments, and even classroom management! It’s amazing how you can have a group of unruly children silent in less than 2 seconds by just playing a game!

After that first year of teaching, I moved on to teach 6th grade ELA at the same middle school I where I went to school! I have been there since 2010. Every year is a new experience and a new lesson. Before I had children, I was already making mental notes of what to make sure I don’t let my children do, get away with, or what I want them to be able to do and how I need to prepare them for it.

In the same year of 2010, I began grad school at Walden University online. I was working on a Master’s in Instructional Technology and Design. I picked up skills on online instruction, project management, corporate training, and constructing online instructional modules. So, I learned how to combine my love for education and teaching with my online and technology skills, which also led to my increased blogging skills!

In 2010, I also reunited with my college sweetheart (he was actually my best friend at the time that I secretly had a crush on!) after 5 years losing contact with each other! His name is Angelo, and we have been together since! You can read more about our story in my post titled Don’t Let Your Love Story End.

Angelo and I courted for 2 years, included a year of engagement, and during this time we planned our future from where we wanted to live, raising children, long-term goals, etc. We got married on October 6, 2012 and just had the time of our lives! We were super exhausted that night! We took our honeymoon trip on a cruise to the Bahamas, which I will share in my blog where to find the best travel deals!

I was already a homeowner, so I sold my house and we purchased our first home together in May 2014! It was so exciting, and knowing that we were a step closer to making this home the place we would raise our children just made it all seem so unreal!

In August of 2014, we began planning our family, but would not become parents until 2016 after suffering 2 miscarriages. You can read about my birth story here, my journey to motherhood here, and how to deal with miscarriage here. On February 16, 2016, I gave birth to the most beautiful and biggest baby boy I ever thought I would have! We named this precious little boy AJ (Angelo Jr.). My family has increased from 2 to 3 now, and we plan to add more! It is very early in my motherhood experience, but I already have so much to say and so much to share!!

I am learning so many things and would like to take you along for the journey! We all work so hard to manage great households and earn the title SUPERMOM because we are super! I want my blog to help you through your supermom journey, even on those days when you don’t feel so super, and YES, we all have those days. Even Superman could be taken down by kryptonite, but he always managed to get back up!!!

I hope to keep myself encouraged on this journey along with any of you that need it and to be a support for new moms or moms that just want new, fresh ideas!

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the blog!

Have a SUPER JOURNEY
